For the rest of the choices you need to go to the specific Chapters in this Book as indicated in the Index.

  • Open Schooling (for those who discontinued studies, but now want to complete High School or Higher Secondary School)
  • Animation (for creative minds, who can think and create TV prog., games Films ETC)
  • IGNOU (for those who want to do their graduation through distance learning or want to study further without going to College)
  • OWN Business (for those who like to launch on their own business by taking advantage of Government Schemes)

How to choose the best option for you based on choices above:
The 6-step Formula:

Step 1.
Which are the Subjects that you really enjoy in School or Higher Secondary?
Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, English, Languages, Civics, History, Environment, Economics, Psychology, Drawing/Painting, Sports.

Which Stream would be the best for you?
Is it Science?
If it is Science, should it be the Group ‘A’ (PCM) i.e. Physics, Chemistry Maths
or Group ‘B’ (PCB) i.e. Physics, Chemistry Biology
or should it be Arts, Commerce, Vocational, ITI (Industrial Technical Institute), Polytechnic, Own Business, Open Schooling, IGNOU or Animation?

If you really enjoy Maths and the Science Subjects and have scored over 60% in Std. X, then you could consider Science – A Stream (PCM). However, do not choose Science just because your friends have chosen Science. However, if you do not like Maths but like PCB and have scored over 60%, then you could consider Science ‘B’ Stream.

Similarly if you like numbers, but not Algebra & Geometry, then you could think of Commerce. You could also like to take Commerce, if you are good in Numbers and have good People-skills or negotiating skills. You would then be good in the Banking or Insurance or the corporate world.

If you like Psychology or English, there are numerous Stream/Career Options.

If you like to fix things or repair things that do not work very well then perhaps your abilities lie in ITI (Industrial Technical Institutes) or in Polytechnics i.e. A higher version of ITI wherein you get a Diploma after 3-4 years of study. In ITI you get a certification after 1-2 years of study.

IGNOU (INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY) is available to those who wish to study in the Open College concept i.e. You get all study material sent by IGNOU to your residence and you study on your own. There are some classes to attend however.

Promotion opportunities. How, why, when where, etc

Step 4
Read all about your possible Career choices. Check websites. Check about the costs of the Program, the duration, the work involved etc

Step 5
Talk to parents and make sure they are on board on your decision and the finances involved.

Step 6
Ask for God’s direction – Pray. Read Bible – Chapter on Jeremiah 29:11-13

11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.
13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
